Most people are taught and conditioned to believe that sexuality and spirituality are opposed; in conflict with each other. Whilst it is true that sexuality as it is often experienced and modelled within our society and projected by some sections of the media can be negative and destructive, the truth remains that sexuality and spirituality can be integrated and lead one closer to God rather than further away. For Self realisation to be achieved it is essential to learn how to control and channel positively the primary energy - life force - that is experienced as various manifestations. Sexual energy is one such manifestation.
Neither repressing nor suppressing the sex force will stop its powerful energy. Many people discover, to their cost, that sexual obsessions and uncontrolled habits form as a direct consequence of trying to deny or negate the sex urge. Other people find that their sex lives are unfulfilling and monotonous; devoid of true intimacy, reduced simply to a physical act.
The “outside-in” approach to sexuality by itself simply does not work. Sexuality integrated with spirituality must be from the “inside-out”. This requires letting go of ingrained conditioning and performance-centred mental and physical approaches to sexuality and sexual relationships. It requires a re-learning; shifts that must take place to raise levels of consciousness. The orgasmic state is a merging of consciousness into the One. When such an experience of sexuality has been experienced, the sex force itself has been controlled and free will and the power of choice regained.
When sufficient people in the world discover the connection between sexuality and spirituality, divorce rates will plummet, sexual inequality be consigned to history and wars will cease.
