 Death, Dying and Afterlife

When a precious loved one dies, the main concern for most people is whether their loved one still exists somewhere and, if so, whether they are alright.  Where are our departed loved ones?  What do they look like now?  Do they still remember us?  Do they still love us?  Are they happy, or sad?  Will we ever see them again?  Will they recognise us when we die?  Some people, especially those who have been conditioned by some of the literalist interpretations of the world religious scriptures, will wonder “Are they in Heaven – or in Hell?”

Even the most hopeful churchgoers who believe in the “salvation of the soul” do not attempt to enquire into the actual whereabouts of the soul or whether or not there can be any basis for our ongoing relationship with our departed loved ones.  After the funeral service, most people consign their loved ones to memory or to somewhere quite obscure.  Meanwhile, the pain of loss and separation from our precious ones burns like a fire in the belly of those who are left behind with many such questions and no answers.

When Jane, my wife of 34 years, died early in 2006 my life as I knew it also ended.  I was awoken seventeen hours later with Jane’s first communication from the “other side”.  Her body had died but she was not dead.

Never the spirit was born;

The spirit shall cease to be never;

Never was time it was not;

End and Beginning are dreams!

Birthless and deathless and changeless

Remaineth the spirit forever;

Death hath not touched it at all,

Dead though the house of it seems!

Eternal Relationships

Since those early days of bereavement, I have made it the remainder of my life’s work to help people find their healing from grief.  It is possible, but only by finding the answers to the painful questions by direct experience.  You can know for certain that your loved ones have survived physical death and that they are still connected with you, and you with them, through the unbreakable bond of love.

“…if you are truly sincere, it is possible by meditation and spiritual development to contact departed loved ones…” the great Indian guru Paramahansa Yogananda writes.”..Communicating with souls in the subtle world is not a simple accomplishment.  It is a science guarded by nature…” (“Where Are Our Departed Loved Ones?” publ. Self Realisation Fellowship).

You can make direct connections with your loved ones.  It is not easy, but it is possible.  You do not need a medium to make this connection for you; you are still in relationship with your loved one and it is through the relationship of love that communication is best made.
